
The newly announced Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be available in India starting October 7 with a starting price of Rs 60,000 for the iPhone 7 32GB in silver, gold, rose gold and the new black finish. The new jet black finish will be offered exclusively on the 128GB and 256GB models from Apple Authorised Resellers and select carriers. We don't have any update on the pricing of the iPhone 7 128GB and 256GB and the iPhone 7 Plus at the moment. Soon after Apple announced the new iPhones, the Apple India website also updated the launch date.
The new iPhones are water and dust resistant. Both the iPhones have a 25 per cent better display than the predecessor and wide colour gamut cinema standard colour management. This has been integrated in the Apple iPhone 3D touch display. Apple has also redesigned the home button by adding force touch. Known as Taptic feedback, it will be used for Quick Actions, messages, notifications and ringtones.
Apple has also bumped up the performance by adding a new generation chip - A10 fusion. It is a 64-bit 4 core processor. The first two cores are high performance cores, which area 40% faster than A9 Plus. Other two are high-performance core.
The camera on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus has been further improvised as they both have optical image stabilization, six-element lens and new 12MP sensor, quad-LED flash and can captures RAW camera images. iPhone7 Plus gets two 12MP cameras lenses built-in - telephoto and wide angle - can capture DSLR like images and can go up to 2x optical zoom.
As expected, Apple had ditched the 3.5mm audio port in favour of lightning headphones that will come along with lighting to headphone jack adapter too. Apple has doubled the storage on all the iPhone and will be now available in three capacities - 32GB, 128GB and 256GB.
