Huawei has unveiled the world's slimmest
android-based smartphone. The Ascend P6 is 6.18mm thick, has a 4.7-inch in-cell display screen and will be available in three colours - black, white and pink.
The latest smartphone from the Chinese telecom giant, though slimmer than Apple's iPhone 5 and Alcatel's One Idol Ultra, is comparitively heavier at 120 gms with battery.
With 8 gigabytes of internal storage,
1.5GHz quad-core processor and Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 operating system, the phone features Huawei's own user interface and even includes an "auto facial enhancement" tool to create better self portraits.
The Ascend P6 has a 5 megapixel front camera for high quality self portraits.
Huawei is expecting to double it sales from last year, even as Samsung and Apple continue to rule most of
the smartphone market. Samsung has established itself as the top Android-based smartphone maker with its Galaxy range of devices.
Shao Yang, chief marketing officer for Huawei Device, is expecting the Ascend P6 to help the brand grow further.
However, experts say the lack of 4G support with the device may hamper the sales to some extent.
The company claims use of various power-saving technologies can help the device's battery last upto 30 per cent longer than normal.
