
Handset maker Micromax on Tuesday launched its new affordable Android smartphone, the Canvas Spark.
Taking on the Xiaomi Redmi 2 mobile phone, Micromax has priced the Canvas Spark at Rs 4,999.
The smartphone, launched at a press briefing in New Delhi, will be available exclusively on online portal Snapdeal through flash sales starting April 29.
The company plans to open registrations for the first flash sale at noon on April 22.
The Canvas Spark features a 4.7-inch qHD (960540 pixels) display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
Running on Android's latest operating system Lollipop, it is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MTK6582 quad-core processor and is paired with 1GB of RAM. It sports 8GB of internal storage and supports a microSD card, too. It is equipped with an 8-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front facing camera and a 2,000mAh battery.
This is a dual SIM smartphone with 3G support and has got Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS onboard. The launch day offer for the Canvas Spark includes two months of free 500MB 3G data for Vodafone users.
