New shooter in town: Nikon launches D-SLR model D7000

D7000 has the workings of an expert. It has a 39-point auto focus system which Nikon claims can track multiple objects in sight for the best and sharpest results.

After upgrading its entry level DSLR D3000 to the D3100, Nikon is quickly out with another camera that should gladden the hearts of the serious amateurs.

They have managed to squeeze in 16.2 MP in a small body-a sensor that is equivalent to the size of Nikon's bestseller D90.The new camera is called the D7000.

D7000 has the workings of an expert. It has a 39-point auto focus system which Nikon claims can track multiple objects in sight for the best and sharpest results.

A lot of picture scene modes are available in this camera and it can also shoot full HD videos at 24 frames per second. When fully charged, the photographer can take up to 1,050 shots. This one sells for Rs 89,950 with a 18-105mm kit lens.
