Nokia Lumia 520 to hit Indian market priced at Rs 10,500, Lumia 720 coming soon

Unveiled in February at the Barcelona Mobile World Congress, Nokia has announced the launch of its new Windows Phone 8 smartphones - Lumia 720 and Lumia 520 - in the Indian market.

While the Lumia 520 is priced at Rs 10,500 and will be available in seven days from now, the Lumia 720 is expected to be priced at around Rs 20,000 and will be available in the market mid-April.

Vipul Mehrotra, Director - smart devices, India Middle East Africa, Nokia says: "The WP8 momentum is building and Nokia is charging ahead with the Lumia series. The launch of the Nokia Lumia 720 and Nokia Lumia 520 reflects our commitment to build a winning ecosystem that will enrich people's mobile experience and help them connect with each other at newer price points."

Both the devices will have access to Microsoft's Windows MarketPlace that has over 1,30,000 apps. The phones will be available in five colours - Yellow, red, cyan, white and black. The changeable shells, however, will be available for the Lumia 520 only.

LUMIA 720:
Continuing with the eyecatching design, the 720 has a unibody design with Qualcomm's Snapdragon S4 1GHz dual core processor onboard and 512MB RAM. It has got a 4.3 inch Gorilla Glass 2.0 display which is responsive to a nail or glove input as well.

Boasting a 6.7 MP camera with Carl Zeiss lens at the back, the Nokia Lumia 720 can also capture HD videos at 720p at 30 frames per second. The company has also added a 1.3MP front facing camera that offers HD wide angle view for Skype calling.

This mid-segment device has a 8GB internal storage that can be expanded using up to 64GB microSD card. NFC enabled, the Lumia 720 has a 2000 mAh battery and there will be an optional Nokia Wireless Charging Cover accessory.

LUMIA 520:
The device will be Nokia's most affordable Windows Phone 8 smartphone with a 4-inch WVGA display and 1GHz dual core processor paired with 512 MB RAM. Unlike the Lumia 720, it has got a 5MP autofocus camera rear camera, no front facing camera and a 1430mAh battery.
