Snapdeal launches automobile platform

At a press briefing in New Delhi today, Snapdeal announced the launch of its new platform, Snapdeal Motors.

Snapdeal Motors will be an automobile platform allowing customers to browse through various automobiles, avail test drives and choose from a host of financing options and documentation support. The company says that using this platform, one can get loan approvals in two minutes.

At the time of the launch, Hero MotoCorp and Piaggio were available on the platform. The e-commerce giant plans to bring in Mahindra, Suzuki and Datsun in the coming days.

Anand Chandrasekaran , Chief Product Officer at Snapdeal said, "We embarked on a journey earlier this year to build the most intuitive buying experience for our consumers. A key challenge is to offer a consistent experience across categories while bringing the best content to make decisions in context. With Snapdeal Motors, we are bringing together the benefits of e-commerce including convenience and deep assortment."

Accessible on web, mobile and app, Snapdeal Motors allows customers to choose the colour, check on-road price and even pay a nominal booking amount from the platform itself.

Customers can also choose dealers based on proximity and delivery date.

The company says it will introduce 'Test Drive at Home' and 'Door Step Delivery' option in the coming weeks.
