Toshiba, a global leader in advanced technology, launched the world's first LED TV with integrated battery backup.
Called the PC 1 series, the LED TVs will be available in 24-inch and 32-inch models and will have a standby rechargeable battery that can power the TV for 2 hours when fully charged.
The 24-inch LED is priced at Rs 25,000 and the 32-incher at Rs 40,000. The second series, the PS1, will have displays in screen sizes of 24, 32 and 40 inches and in addition to battery backup, has been designed to maximize power saving.
The company also launched the PB1 LCD series. All TVs in the Power series have Toshiba's proprietary 'Power meta Brain', an image processing engine which, the company claims, will integrate advance technologies to ensure crisp, high resolution image with true-to-life colours.
The TVs are also equipped with auto signal boosters for improving signal sensitivity and 20W speaker.
Shigenori Tokumitsu, Vice-president, Visual Products Company, Toshiba Corporation, says: "India is a key strategic market for us, and with these technologically advanced products, especially the POWER TV range of flat panel TVs specifically designed to meet the needs and demands of the Indian market and our new Flagship LED model, we are looking to enhance our market leadership position in India as well."
Other than the power backup LEDs, the company has also launched 3D LED TVs in 55 and 46 inch panels with 7,000,000: 1 contrast ratio and 200 hertz motion-enhancement technology. They also convert 2D content into 3D.
