
Technology firm Apple on Monday said iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus will be available for sale in India from October 16, 2015.
The firm started selling its latest smartphones from September 25 in Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Singapore, the United Kingdom and the United States.
With the new iPhones going on sale starting September 25, Apple has revealed the pricing for the two year contract. The iPhone 6S is priced at $199 for the 16GB variant, $299 for the 64GB variant, and $399 for the 128GB variant. The iPhone 6S Plus, on the other hand, is priced at $299 for the 16GB variant, $399 for the 64GB variant, and $499 for the 128GB variant. The 16GB variant of the iPhone 6S 16GB is expected to be priced above Rs 55,000.
The phones sport a 64-bit A9 processor which is faster and saves more power. It is 70 per cent faster than the A8 chip. The company claimed the graphics would be 90 per cent faster on the device. Also, the 3D Force Touch has been deeply integrated with the iOS 9 on these two iPhones, offering different actions on a tap, press and deep press.
The devices would also have M9 motion co-processor embedded to give more accurate readings about the user's daily activity. It will also come with a second-generation fingerprint scanner or touch ID which will be two times faster than the earlier one.
The new phones come with an enhanced 12MP rear camera with auto-focus. The rear camera can also take 4K resolution videos, which can capture more details in eight million pixels. Apart from this, the new iPhones will also sport a five-MP front camera.
