Galaxy Note 7 is proving to be a nightmare for Samsung. Another incident of an exploding Note 7 rattled the company's image, and this time it was even marked safe. These incidents are a big question mark on the entire idea behind Samsung's attempt at recalling the devices.

The South Korean tech giant started receiving reports of exploding devices just days after the Note 7 hit the stores. The company sprang into action as soon as they received a substantial amount of complains. With more than a month since the entire fiasco began, Samsung managed to supply around 1 million 'safe' devices.

A new report from The Verge has claimed that one of the 'safe' devices that was replaced on September 21, has exploded in a flight.
According to the report, the Note 7 in question belonged to Brain Green. Green boarded the flight with the Note 7 that carried the green battery icon, which is an indication that the device was from Samsung's replaced lot.

As soon as Green turned off his device when requested by the flight attendant, it began to smoke. He was forced to drop the device on the floor of the aircraft and the entire flight was evacuated quickly.

Samsung responded to the incident saying, "Until we are able to retrieve the device, we cannot confirm that this incident involves the new Note 7. We are working with the authorities and Southwest now to recover the device and confirm the cause. Once we have examined the device we will have more information to share."

So far there have been numerous reports about the explosion of 'safe' Note 7s in China. This incident is a first in US and has left the Samsung enthusiasts in shock. The company has tried a few tricks to contain the pile of growing reports by limiting the battery charge to 60 per cent but it seems that Note 7 fiasco is here to stay.

Samsung had launched the Note 7 in a relatively uncompetitive segment with just LG and HTC trying to battle for the premium android phone segment. But with the launch of phones like iPhone 7 and Google Pixel, Samsung will face a tremendous pressure which might also topple it from its Rank 1 position in smartphone manufacturing.
