Canon India has entered the cinematography imaging domain in India with the launch of its Cinema EOS range in India. Masaya Maeda, Managing Director, CEO and Global Head of Canon Inc's Imaging Communication Products, launched the EOS C300, EOS C500 and EOS 1D-C in India on Friday. Of the three, the EOS C300 will become available immediately at Rs 13,90,000. The camera features cinematic 2K video recording with 50Mbps 4:2:2 XF codec, a compact body and a 35mm equivalent CMOS sensor.
Canon also announced the launch of its new flagship entry-level
DSLR , the EOS 650D. The 18 mega pixel
camera stands out for its high-speed sensor-based hybrid AF system and 3-inch touchscreen viewfinder which can be used to focus as well as shoot.
The speed needed for the camera comes from the DIGIC 5 processor, which is six times faster than its predecessor.
"Canon sees India as a critical market for its overall growth and is focused on deepening our relationship while staying committed to realizing the untapped potential in the market," said Masaya Maeda. He said the latest range of products will set a new benchmark for the industry to transform and progress. Canon's camera business has registered a 60 per cent growth in India in 2012.
