
Google Maps reveals most searched places
According to a Google report on mobile behaviour, 46 per cent of Indian
smartphone users use their devices to look up for directions or explore maps.
Google has shared the most popular destinations searched by the Indian internet users for August 2012 on maps.google.co.in.
In Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore,
hotels were the most searched destinations. The Imperial was the most searched hotel in Delhi, the Trident in Mumbai and the Leela Kempinski in Bangalore.
The data also stated that users in Delhi look most for tourist destinations while Bangalore scores on technology institutes and Mumbai on restro-bar.
Lalitesh Katragadda, country head, India products, Google, says, "Planning vacation and trips to weekend gateways are now easier because the map gives tourists plenty of insights into the place and its neighborhood, including directions to location."
