Chinese telecom giant Huawei is all set to expand its smartphone lineup in India with the launch of two new models.
The Ascend G510 has a 4.5-inch display with 854x480 pixel resolution. Running on Android Jelly Bean (v4.1), it is powered by a 1.2GHz dual core processor and 512 MB RAM. The phone has a 5MP camera with 720p video capture and a 1700mAh battery. Although the smartphone has got support for an expandable memory card slot, the device only has a 4GB internal storage.
The Y300 is a youth centric device with a relatively smaller 4-inch display. While the operating system, internal memory support and the camera optics remain the same, the phone has a dual core 1GHz processor. This has got a slightly better battery at 1730 mAh.
The Ascend G510 and Y300 are priced at Rs 10,990 and Rs 7,890, respectively.
The company also plans to release the 10-inch MediaPad10 Link Android
tablet in India in May. This will be followed by the launch of the company's new flagship smartphones, Ascend Mate and
Ascend D2 , unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show, Las Vegas, earlier this year.
