Lava has added a new phone in its Iris series of devices. The phone, Iris Pro 30+, is the successor of Iris Pro 30, which was launched in January this year. It will go on sale from August 26 at a price of Rs 11,990. While it will be available in all major offline and online stores, consumers buying it from Amazon.in will get a 16GB microSD card free.
The key feature of the Pro 30+ is 13-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash. The phone is also very compact. It features a 4.7-inch 720P screen, has a thickness of just 7.9mm and weighs 116 grams, making it one of the lightest and slimmest budget phones in the market.
The device is powered by a 1.5Ghz quad-core processor and 1GB RAM. It will come with 16GB internal storage, 2000 mAh battery, support for up to 32GB microSD card and 3-megapixel front camera.
The Pro 30+ runs two-year-old Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, which is rather unfortunate given the fact that the hardware looks good.
In the Indian market, the Pro30+ will compete against devices like Motorola Moto G, Xiaomi Mi 3 and Asus Zenfone 5. While in terms of hardware it matches the competition well, the older version of the Android inside the Pro 30+ may put it in tough spot against the competitors that run Android 4.4 KitKat.
