Chinese tech firm Lenovo on Wednesday sold 35,000 units of its new A7000 smartphone on Wednesday.
This was the second flash sale of the Lenovo A7000. During the first sale conducted last Wednesday, 30,000 units of A7000 were sold out in 4 seconds.
The device is exclusively sold through online retail firm Flipkart at Rs 8,999.
Lenovo has announced that the A7000 will go on sale for a third time next Wednesday April 29 for registered users. Registrations for the same will begin starting 6PM IST today.
Lenovo hasn't announced the number of units that would be made available saying it wants to maintain a surprise element for buyers for the future sale.
A device going out of stock in seconds is quite a regular affair in case of flash sales. The trend, started by Xiaomi is now being followed by a number of companies in the Indian market.
Recently, home grown Micromax launched the ultra-affordable Canvas Spark and announced that the handset will be available via flash sale model through Snapdeal.
The A7000 is Lenovo's one of three budget category handsets in the market. The company recently launched the A6000 Plus, successor to the A6000 in India.
The A7000 is notably the first smartphone in the world to come with Dolby ATMOS sound technology for enhanced audio experience.
The 4G LTE capable A7000 smartphone features a 5.5-inch HD IPS display and is powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6572M processor coupled with 2GB of RAM.
The dual-SIM device runs Android Lollipop out-of-the-box and is backed by a 2900mAh battery.
