Salman Khan is the most searched celebrity on Google in September

Salman Khan, who has been making headlines recently after the successful release of his film Prem Ratan Dhan Payo , was the most searched celebrity on Google in September, according to a report by digital services company TO THE NEW Digital.

In the month of September, Salman Khan was searched 4.5 million times on Google , followed by Deepika Padukone who was searched 2.5 million times, says the report.

According to the Digital Celebrity Index September' 2015, Anushka Sharma was the third most searched Indian celebrity on Google in September.

This report also analyses the performance of movie stars on social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, and judges them on various parameters like activeness, most engagement, audience reach etc.

It says that while Priyanka Chopra (531 posts) is the most active movie actor on the three social media networking sites, Madhuri Dixit is the most engaging one with 11.8 million engagements.

However, Deepika Padukone has the largest audience with a total fan base of 43 million on these three sites.

The report tags Salman Khan as the 'most digital savvy' celebrity, followed by Shahrukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan.

It also said that Sonam Kapoor uses Facebook the most as a medium of brand promotion the most among all the celebrities and is the biggest brand promoter on Facebook.
