Snapdeal, one of the leading ecommerce players in India has rolled out a new convenience feature on mobile app, by integrating bill payments and recharges.
The online shopping app has been integrated with FreeCharge wallet, and users can now make payments for their utility bills or can even recharge their mobile and DTH connection.
Manav Kamboj, Vice President of Engineering, Snapdeal says, "Bill payments are tasks that we all need to do but don't enjoy or want to explicitly plan for. By integrating utility bill payments, prepaid and DTH account recharges, we are making this a "one-tap" process to deliver a frictionless marketplace experience. It's like going to your favourite bazaar to shop and stop by for a moment to pay a mobile bill. Simple".
The convenience service payment feature has been added to the home screen, below the categories.
Currently, it features four options - prepaid, postpaid, DTH and data card. Just by entering the mobile number, it directs to the login followed by payment page. Available for iOS and Android users, customers also get an added benefit of a single click view for recharge plans and recharge history (if used before).
It will also give access to information on the best available cash back offers on recharges and bill payments right on the app home screen. There is also a contact book feature that allows one to recharge for family and friends using the app.
