After the successful launch of the flagship smartphone, the
Galaxy SIII, Samsung is at the launch of the Galaxy Beam in India. Unveiled in February this year, the stand-out feature of the Beam is its inbuilt projector.
The projector lens has been cleverly placed on the top and can be turned on by long pressing a key on the left panel. The projection output of 15 lumens was bright and clear and can be used to project images up to 50 feet. The projection feature is well intergraded with many interesting features that can come handy, for instance, during a professional presentation.

The Beam isn't the slimmest phone around but the yellow piping running between the black front and ebony grey back makes it look stylish. A 4.0 inch capacitive touch display dominates the front and a 5MP camera is placed at the back. This smartphone operates on Android 2.3 Gingerbread but has a powerful 1GHz dual core processor and 768MB RAM.
Available at Samsung e-Store for Rs 29,990, you can ask if the Galaxy Beam justifies the price tag. For the answer, you will have to wait till our final review in the coming issue of G&G.
