Portronics ElectroPen
Price: Rs 7,999
Rating: 4.5/5Digital pens are not new, but the one from Portronics looks promising. The pen has a built-in transmitter that communicates with the receiver clip, which can be attached on any paper or notepad you intend to write on.
A pen icon appears on the clip's display indicating that
the receiver is sensing the action . When you are done with the writing just press the button to save data on the clip. From here, the data can be uploaded to a PC using the Note Manager software.
While the manuscript is saved as JPGs in default, the Note Manager combined with My Script Note can covert this data into a text files.
The device can also be used online by connecting the clip to a PC as you write. The software on the PC takes the notes in real-time and can be converted to text if needed. When not used for writing, the pen can also be used as a mouse.
The pen has to be held firmly and pressure has to be applied while writing for the device to record strokes with accuracy. Otherwise, it misses a few alphabets and words here and there.
While the handwriting recognition is good, it depends a lot on your handwriting. Also, the clip can store only up to 100 notes, and you have to transfer filed to a PC after that.
Bag it or Junk it: Works well, though with a few accuracy issues.
