
Oppo is rolling out software updates for its 5G smartphones to support standalone (SA) 5G network. The Chinese manufacturer has collaborated with Reliance Jio to offer high speed internet, reliability and negligible latency for a better 5G experience on Jio's 5G SA network. OPPO Reno 8, Reno 8 Pro and others are now ready to connect with the available Jio 5G network in select 8 cities including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Varanasi, and Nathdwara.
Oppo is pushing the software update for all of its 5G smartphones across Reno, F Series, K Series. Here is the list of Oppo devices which got the support for Jio 5G standalone (SA) network-
The devices that are upgraded for the SA network are now ready to connect with the available Jio 5G network. Significantly, Oppo will be rolling out the updates for the remaining 5G devices by November 2022.
"Users living in any city with a 5G-enabled network can enjoy the experience. We are constantly pushing boundaries of innovation to share an experience through our devices, which makes lives easier and more convenient. All our upcoming 5G devices will be SA and NSA compatible," said Tasleem Arif, VP and R&D Head, OPPO India.
Along with Oppo, other smartphones brands including OnePlus and Nothing Phone have also rolled out software updates for 5G connectivity with Jio and Airtel 5G. Samsung, Xiaomi, and Realme have sent the software update to support Jio and Airtel 5G. Along with them, OnePlus Nord CE 5G, Nord 5G, 10T and other phones also received the update to support the Jio 5G network. On the other hand, Apple has also rolled out iOS 16.2 for beta users which will allow 5G network on both Jio and Airtel. Apple will release iOS 16.2 for all users in December.
