It seems that Pixel 6a won't come with a charger and Google might just offer the smartphone in the retail box. Tipster Abhishek Yadav has shared an image on Twitter, which shows that the company won't bundle the charging adapter, but there will be a USB Type-C port. If Google is planning to drop chargers from retail boxes, then this won't be surprising at all, considering a lot of brands have already started doing this.
With the launch of the iPhone 12, Apple started this trend of not offering a charger in the box. At first, several smartphone brands mocked Apple for this move and advertised their products saying that people wouldn't have to face this issue with their Android phones, but ended up following in the footsteps of Apple.
Samsung stopped providing an adapter with flagship devices and it now doesn't offer it with some of its mid-range phones. A few months back, Realme announced that the Narzo 50A Prime wouldn't come with a charger, but the company promised that it will continue to offer it with the rest of the devices. Nothing, which recently launched its first smartphone in India, also doesn't ship it with an adapter. So, Google doing the same thing won't be a surprise.
The Pixel 6a was announced back in May at Google's I/O event and the company confirmed that the device will arrive in India later this year. While the official launch date is still under wraps, the leaks claim that the Pixel 6a will launch in India on July 21 and it could be priced under Rs 40,000.
To recall, the device has Google's in-house Tensor chipset as well as a Titan M2 security coprocessor. The Pixel 6a packs a dual rear camera setup, including a 12.2-megapixel primary camera and a 12-megapixel secondary sensor. On the front is an 8-megapixel camera. Under the hood, one will find a 4,410mAh battery. It features an OLED display that is about 6.1-inch in size. The panel operates at Full HD+ resolution and has support for standard 60Hz refresh rate. The front is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The handset runs on Android 12 OS.
