iPhone SE 4 details leaked anonymously, could likely feature Face ID, Action Button, type-C port and more

Information related to the iPhone SE 4 has leaked in all its glory via an anonymous tipster. The phone could likely feature massive upgrades, including the Action Button and a USB type-C port.

SUMMARY
  • iPhone SE 4 is expected to arrive with some massive changes inside out.
  • Two major upgrades coming to the iPhone SE 4 could be the Action Button and a type-C port.
  • The design of the iPhone SE 4 is also tipped to be in line with the iPhone 14.

Juicy information regarding the iPhone SE 4 was leaked online by an anonymous tipster, and going by the list of mentioned upgrades, the fourth-generation iPhone SE could be in for a major overhaul. The anonymous tipster reached out to folks over at MacRumors and going by their word, the iPhone SE 4, which internally goes by the codename ghost, could sport a design based on the iPhone 14, meaning, the slightly rounded corners of the iPhone 15 shouldn't be expected on the newest iPhone SE model.

According to a report, an anonymous tipster spoke with MacRumors detailing the key features and upgrades that the rumoured iPhone SE 4 could come with. Two of the major upgrades that are being tipped are the arrival of the Action Button and USB Type-C port, which will put the iPhone SE 4, right in line with the iPhone 15 series. While a type-C port could see the light of the day on the iPhone SE 4, considering the EU guidelines, an Action Button looks highly unlikely as the feature is currently only available on the iPhone 15 Pros, meaning, the latest generation standard iPhone 15 models also don't have it.

We already mentioned that the design of the iPhone SE 4 could be based on the iPhone 14 (according to tipster claims). However, when it comes to the rear design, the fourth-generation iPhone SE could likely feature a single camera as opposed to the two lenses found on the iPhone 14. This single camera could be the 48MP sensor, which is apparently getting cheaper to mass produce with each passing day.

As for the front, the iPhone SE 4 could likely feature a brand-new OLED display, taken straight from the iPhone 14. This means we can say goodbye to the LCD panel, huge bezels and Touch ID of the older-generation iPhone SE models, and welcome the infamous notch along with Face ID security authentication. Lastly, the tipster also reports that Apple is working on an in-house 5G modem codenamed "Sinope" and could use it for testing on the iPhone SE 4. Apparently, the new 5G modem was initially planned to make its debut in the iPhone 16 series, but it may no longer be the case anymore.

Rounding off the list of iPhone SE 4 changes, i.e. a new design, Action Button, USB Type-C port, Face ID, new OLED display, new 5G modem and a 48MP camera, this could very well make the iPhone SE 4 the biggest-ever upgrade in the history of iPhone SE models. However, since the source is anonymous and the provided information is preliminary, pre-preproduction information, we'd suggest taking everything related to the iPhone SE 4 with a huge grain of salt.
