Nikon has freshly launched a DX-format mirrorless camera called Nikon Z fc. The camera calls attention to itself through its vintage-design aesthetics. It also offers the latest technology and features for professionals. Nikon Z fc is priced at Rs 84,995 in India but camera users will have to wait longer to grab their hands on the product. This is because the company is unable to meet the demand of the customers for its new camera. Spotted by Nikon Rumors first, Nikon Japan has officially released a notice mentioning the same.
Whether it is the Nikon Z fc camera body, or the Nikon Z fc paired with a NIKKOR 28mm F2.8 (SE) lens in a Special Edition kit, the new product will arrive later than expected. The demand for the new camera has clearly outmatched the company's production capability. Earlier, the imaging products were marked to be released in late July 2021. But the official notice confirms the shipment delay.
"Thank you for your continued patronage of Nikon products. We have received a large number of reservations for the "Z fc" and "Z fc 28mm f / 2.8 Special Edition Kits" scheduled to be released in late July 2021. For some customers who are currently making reservations, it may take some time before the product is delivered," writes Nikon Japan. "We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused to customers who are waiting for our products. We will do our utmost to deliver the product as soon as possible, and we appreciate your understanding."
It's been quite a long time since Nikon struggled with the supply of its cameras. Nikon Z7 II was launched in mid-October 2020, but the stock of the camera is still low. However, going by the recent headlines, it is evident that the technology industry has been hit due to supply shortages worldwide. Nikon, too, has stopped giving AC adapters for Z7 and Z7 II mirrorless cameras because of semiconductor shortages.
In other camera-related news, Sony will launch a new imaging product tomorrow, that is, on July 7. Reports suggest that it is going to be the company's second ZV-series vlogging camera. Rumouredly called Sony ZV-E10, it will be an APS-C mirrorless camera which may boast 4K video recording capabilities. Camera users can expect its price to be under Rs 1-lakh.
