After officially launching the new HyperOS in India last month, Xiaomi is now rolling out the new OS to more and more of its smartphones. Last week, Xiaomi shared the rollout plan for the HyperOS for Xiaomi and Redmi phones, and now Poco has shared its own roadmap for the OS. Currently, HyperOS is already available on three Poco devices, namely Poco M6 Pro, Poco X6, and Poco M4 5G. All three of these smartphones received HyperOS in March 2024. Poco X6 Pro, on the other hand, was launched with HyperOS out-of-the-box.
HyperOS is currently also available on last year's Poco C55, Poco X5, Poco M5, Poco X5 Pro, and Poco F5.
And in the second quarter of 2024, which would be the months of April, May and June, Poco will also rollout HyperOS to five more phones. The roadmap starts with the Poco F4 getting the new OS first, then the Poco M4 Pro, followed by Poco C65, Poco M6, and Poco X6 Neo.
The HyperOS update brings various improvements to user experience. It optimises storage usage, reducing system space and speeding up tasks like OTA updates compared to MIUI 14.
Moreover, HyperOS introduces new features like customisable lock screens, a redesigned control center, updated icons and fonts, and a Workstation Mode for tablets to boost productivity. It also enhances connectivity, allowing users to view their phone's screen on a tablet through enhanced interconnectivity features and manage smart home devices conveniently with the Xiaomi Smart Hub.
HyperOS debuted alongside the launch of Xiaomi 14 series phones in China. Positioned as a "human-centric" OS, it features a modern design and various functionalities such as seamless device transitions, remote data and app access, and AI-powered capabilities like speech generation, image search, and artwork creation. These features aim to provide an intuitive and efficient interface across Xiaomi's product lineup, addressing the complexities of managing diverse device ecosystems.
