Bollywood actor and investor Suniel Shetty has recently collaborated with the founder and CEO of Veda Rehabilitation & Wellness, Manun Thakur, to launch a new mental health app called 'Lets Get Happi'. With the aim to support mental health, the app is developed to offer 24x7 access to real-time therapy and aims to address the urgent need for affordable, inclusive, and stigma-free mental health care.
"This app is a significant step in supporting people with mental health tools and online therapy so they can thrive in all aspects of their lives," said Shetty in a statement to Mint.
"There is a huge gap in the existing landscape of mental health support and Lets get happi has a unique blend of inclusivity and provides a safe haven for users to seek anonymous support without the fear of any stigma or judgment. The App is our single-minded commitment to address the blindspot existing in the understanding and acceptance of the social aspects of mental health in India" he further added,
Recognizing the need to make mental health support universally accessible, anonymous, and affordable, Veda further claims to have created the app tailored for individuals between the ages of 16 and 35 living in India's metropolitan cities. The app is said to offer therapy from a psychologist 24 hours a day, along with other features such as meditations (some are even based on House and Electronic Dance Music), journaling, and assessment tests.
The app offers a range of features, including 24/7 access to therapy from qualified psychologists through audio, video, and chat options. Additionally, the app includes guided meditation, journaling, and psychological assessment tests. The content covers various wellness topics, and there are even meditations based on House and Electronic Dance Music.
Furthermore, the app also provides in-person and online therapy, catering to diverse needs and budgets. It also emphasizes user anonymity, creating a safe space for individuals to discuss their mental health.
The app is now available for both Android and iOS platforms. It was initially soft-launched in May and has reportedly received 16,000 organic downloads. With the official launch, the Lets Get Happi app has gained significant traction and is projected to reach over 500,000 downloads within the next nine months.
Meanwhile, the company revealed that with the upcoming version of the app, expected to be released by January 2024, it will also introduce AI in the app. This AI will function as the first responder, offer cognitive games, provide premium content, podcasts, and enable interactive journaling.
