Xiaomi has recently unveiled its second tablet in the market, which is called the Xiaomi Pad 6. The tablet was officially announced in China, along with a Pro version, although the Indian buyers will not have access to the Pro version. The Pad 6 offers support for various accessories, including a keyboard and stylus. This accessory support enhances the tablet's functionality and enables users to utilize it for multiple purposes. The tablet showcases a promising design and can be an ideal choice for individuals looking for a productive device that can be easily carried on the go. Specifically, field reporters or individuals with typing-intensive jobs may consider the Pad 6 as a potential device.
I have been using the device for a couple of days now, and I would like to share my initial impressions of it.
The Pad 6 boasts a sleek metal unibody design with a thickness of 6.51 mm. Even with the folio cover on, it remains lightweight. The rear camera module resembles that of the Xiaomi 13 Pro, lending a touch of premium aesthetics. In terms of design changes from the Xiaomi Pad 5, the camera module is the major overhaul you'll notice. However, the soft matte finish on the back tends to attract fingerprints, so it's advisable to use a case, which is available for just Rs 1499.
In addition to the tablet, I also received the keyboard folio case, priced at Rs 4999, and the second-generation Xiaomi Smart Pen, priced at Rs 5999. The keyboard has a plastic build and provides a comfortable typing experience. I haven't had the opportunity to type lengthy articles, so I can't comment on its overall performance. Notably, the touchpad is absent from the keyboard. Similarly, I've used the Smart Pen for doodling and found its responsiveness to be impressive. I will further test it in various conditions to assess its overall performance.
The Xiaomi Pad 6 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor coupled with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Even though the processor is dated in the smartphone market, for the time frame that I have used, I have not faced any major issues with its performance. It fares well in day to day chores.
The display is one of the highlights of the device. The first bit that makes it stand out is the display size of 11-inch. Xiaomi Pad 6 comes with a 11-inch display, 2.8K resolution with 309 Pixels Per Inch that make every scene look sharp and clear, and a segment-leading 144hz refresh rate. I started watching web series on the device and the experience so far has been pretty good. However, I will check out the legibility in outdoor conditions. Overall, the colour reproduction and picture quality has not been the causes of disappointments.
The Pad 6 features a 8,840mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging. With moderate usage, the device lasted me around 2 days. The company has claimed that it can charge up to 100 per cent in 100 mins. I am yet to test that feature. So to find out about the detailed battery performance, you should stay tuned for the complete review.
The Xiaomi Pad 6 comes at an interesting price tag of Rs 26,999 for the 6GB+128GB variant and Rs 28,999 for the 8GB+456GB variant. However, if you have an ICICI bank card, you can get a discount of Rs 3000 on the device. Coming to the accessories, the Keyboard is priced at Rs 4999, the smart pen is priced at Rs 5999 and the case can be purchased for Rs 1499 only.
At under Rs 30,000, the Xiaomi Pad 6 is an impressive tablet with a sleek design, portability, and versatile functionality. It offers accessory support, such as a keyboard and stylus, which enhances productivity. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor, it performs well for day-to-day tasks. The 11-inch display with a high resolution and 144Hz refresh rate provides a sharp viewing experience. The tablet has a decent battery life and comes at competitive prices, starting at Rs 26,999. Overall, the Xiaomi Pad 6 is a promising tablet with a sleek design, good performance, and attractive features. For the complete review, follow India today tech.
