Delhi government has instructed private hospitals in the national capital region to increase their bed strength by 10 to 20 per cent by September 20, in its effort to treat dengue patients.
Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain held a news conference to inform about the initiatives taken by Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government to curb the spread of dengue.
Jain also said that the government has capped the prices of dengue related tests to a maximum of Rs 600.
The government has been on its toes after a couple in New Delhi leapt to death from the terrace of a school last week soon after their only child died due to dengue after hospitals refused treatment to him due to shortage of beds.
