Kingfisher Airlines might be hoping for government help, but according to Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh any kind of intervention to help the cash-strapped airlines is unlikley.
Ajit Singh on Saturday reiterated the government's stand on
Kingfisher Airlines and said
it can't persuade banks to grant loans to bailout the airline.
The cash strapped aviation giant is reeling under pressure as more of its accounts have been reportedly frozen by the service tax department.
However, Ajit Singh has said he will not ask them to go easy on Kingfisher or ask banks to lend more to the embattled airline. The minister said the matter is between the income tax department and Kingfisher Arilines. More accounts of the cash-strapped airlines were reportedly frozen after it missed the deadline for clearing dues.
The aviation minister also warned Vijay Mallya owned airline that they have to follow the revised schedule submitted to the DGCA or they could face sanctions.
The airlines has been reeling under heavy debt that has seen it drop out of many routes and cut down on it's daily operations.
On Feb 29, Ajit Singh had said, "You can't close down a company because they are making losses or banks are not giving them money. As long as passenger safety is not jeopardised, as long as they keep their schedule, why should we close down any industry."
