State-owned oil firms on Tuesday raised jet fuel by 5.5 per cent in sync with rise in global rates.
Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) rates in Delhi were increased by Rs 2,327.54 to Rs 44,603.54 per kl, an official of Indian Oil Corp, the nation's larget fuel retailer said.
Tuesday's increase is the third raise in rates since October, when international crude oil prices started firming up.
ATF, or jet fuel, will cost Rs 44,716.65 per kilolitre in Mumbai, home to the nation's busiest airport, against Rs 43,553 per kilolitre.
No comment could be immediately obtained from airline companies on the impact of the latest price increase.
India Oil Corporation and its sister public sector oil firms, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum, revise jet fuel prices on the first and 16th of every month, based on the average international price in the preceding fortnight.
