Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal re-launched the anti-corruption helpline, a tried and tested tool, to connect with people of Delhi. Launching the helpline on 1031, Kejriwal promised to make the Capital one of the most transparent cities in the world.
The anti-graft helpline, which was first launched during the Aam Aadmi Party's 49-day stint in power after the 2013 Assembly elections, was discontinued later. Reviving the helpline was one of the major poll promises made by the party during the Assembly elections campaign this year.
Kejriwal on Sunday launched the helpline at the Talkatora Stadium in the presence of Cabinet colleagues, MLAs and a large number of party supporters.
He appealed to the people to inform the government if they are at the receiving end of corruption so that action can be taken against the guilty.
"We will take action against our own ministers or MLAs if they are found corrupt. Even Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and I will be jailed if we are found corrupt," Kejriwal said while adding the Capital will be ranked among the top give corruptionfree cities in the world within a period of five years.
The helpline can be used to lodge a complaint if someone is harassed for a bribe by government officials.
