• Five FPIs challenge MAT before Bombay HC; hearing on May 6 The petition , filed by National Westminster Bank Plc, First State Asia Pacific Sustainability Fund, First State Indian Subcontinent Fund, First State Global Emerging Market Sustainability and BNP Paribas L1, is expected to come up for hearing on May 6.

• March core sector growth falls to 19-mth low The output had expanded by 4 per cent in March 2014. The previous low logged by the core industries was in October 2013 at (-) 0.6 per cent.

• Petrol price hiked by Rs 3.96, diesel by Rs 2.37 Prices of petrol in Delhi will be Rs 63.16 a litre from Friday as against the current Rs 59.20; while diesel will cost Rs 49.57 per litre as against Rs 47.20, Indian Oil Corp (IOC), the nation's largest oil company, said.

• Vodafone, Idea, Bharti Airtel, RCom cut national roaming rates Mobile users will pay less for roaming from Friday as leading operators , including Airtel, Vodafone , Idea and RCom, slashed their roaming rates by up to 75 per cent weeks after regulator TRAI cut ceiling tariffs.

• Govt rolls back proposal to set up new public debt management agency Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, ahead of a vote in the Lok Sabha, said the government would instead consult the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and come out with a detailed roadmap for a new debt management agency.
