
The stock of Eros International, a leading global company in the Indian film entertainment industry, closed higher on Friday after actor Salman Khan's latest movie Bajrangi Bhaijaan hit the theatres.
Eros International bagged global distribution rights of Bajrangi Bhaijaan and another Salman Khan production Hero in December last year, news reports say.
The movie produced by Salman Khan and Rockline Venkatesh recorded excellent opening in almost all theatres on Friday. It also features Kareena Kapoor and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in lead roles.
The release of the much-awaited movie sent the Eros International stock near its 52-week high of Rs 637.25 at 12:17 pm on the BSE. The stock fell from its day high of Rs 635.95 to close at Rs 629.85, a 4.20 per cent or 25.40 points rise from its previous day's closing level. The stock opened at Rs 607.80 on the BSE.
Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex closed higher by 0.06 per cent at 28,463.31 on late-buying on Friday.
