Shares of Hindustan Copper on Thursday spurted 8 per cent in morning trade after the company reported
impressive growth in first quarter net profit.
The
company's scrip touched an early high of Rs 267, up 8 per cent from the previous close on the Bombay Stock Exchange. Similar movement was seen at the National Stock Exchange, where the stock surged 7.91 per cent to a touch an early peak of Rs 267.30.
Hindustan Copper reported more than
two-fold rise in its first quarter net profit at Rs 60.4 crore against Rs 26.2 crore in the corresponding quarter last financial year.
The company's quarterly results were announced after the market close on Wednesday.
The shares of the company were trading at Rs 260.50, up 5.40 per cent at 11 am.
