
Shares of drugmaker Lupin became a part of the BSE benchmark Sensex from Monday. However, the inclusion failed to hold Lupin shares in positive zone as they ended the day 0.29 per cent lower at Rs 1,811 apiece at BSE.
It opened the day at Rs 1,825, and touched an intra-day high and low of Rs 1,851.15 and Rs 1,802, respectively.
Lupin replaced private sector electricity producer Tata Power Company. Shares of Tata Power jumped 3.33 per cent to Rs 74.55 on BSE.
Since May 22, when the announcement was made by BSE, shares of Tata Power fell over 1.5 per cent, while Lupin gained 4.3 per cent till June 22.
The BSE Sensex gained 414 points, or 1.52 per cent to 27,730.21 on Monday.
