The Income Tax department has decided to review all property deals in Delhi to detect tax evasion and black money, a senior government official said.
"Income tax department will review all property deals in Delhi and take action in appropriate cases," Central Board of Direct Taxes Chairman Sudhir Chandra said.
These reviews will be include both individual and corporates property deals in the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
The Income Tax Department has been tightening noose around those investing black money in immovable property deals and evading capital gains tax.
The department carried many search and seizure operations to review most of the property dealers in the past five years. The department's resolution would bring the
DDA Housing Scheme 2010 under its scanner. All deals under the scheme would thus be scrutinised by the IT department.
The draw of the scheme was conducted today and the list of successful candidates would be put on DDA's website late tonight.
