Dhirubhai's memorial inaugurated in Chorwad

A memorial of legendary industrialistand founder of Reliance Group Dhirubhai Ambani, was inaugurated on Wednesday inChorwad town in Junagadh district, in the presence of the entire Ambani family.

The memorial was inaugurated at the hands of the Ambanis'family guru Ramesh Oza (Bhaiji), where Kokilaben, her two sons Mukesh and Anil ,two daughters - Dipti Salgaonkar and Neena Kothari - were present among others.

It was after a long time that the Ambani brothers were seentogether in a family reunion. A few years after the death of Dhirubhai Ambaniin July 2002 both the brothers had parted ways levelling allegations againsteach other.

The family reunion in Chorwad took place after a hiatus of15 years, the last one was in 1996, when Dhirubhai was present and a grandfeast had been organised for the villagers, sources close to the Ambani familysaid.

Talking to mediapersons, Group president of Reliance ParimalNathwani said, "The entire Ambani family got emotional at the inaugurationof the memorial, which is nothing less than a Bharat Ratna type of fittingtribute to the patriach Dhirubhai Ambani."

He said it was significant that a memorial in his name cameup at a place, from where, Dhirubhai began his career as a young entrepreneur.

The house in Chorwad, where Dhirubhai lived, till he leftfor Eden (now Yemen), is transformed into amemorial. A memorial in the name of an industrialist is unheard in this part ofcountry, Nathwani said.
