Infrastructure developer GVK on Monday said it has bagged order worth Rs 4,000 crore for the four-laning of the Shivpuri-Dewas section of National Highway 3 in Madhya Pradesh from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
The 332 km-long project will be executed on design, build, operate and transfer basis under the National Highways Development Programme (Phase IV) of the NHAI, the company said in a statement.
"The winning of this major road project marks yet another milestone for us. With this new project, we will develop one of the busiest highways, to meet the growing road transport needs in the Central and Northern regions of the country," the company chairman
GV Krishna Reddy said.
The project entails widening and strengthening of the two-lane highway to a four-lane with a length of 332 km.
PM for transparency in highway projects Concession period for the project is 30 years including a construction period of 2.5 years, the company said.
It added the letter of award has been received from NHAI and concession agreement would be signed shortly.
"The project passes entirely through MP carrying predominantly long distance freight traffic and is expected to offer high growth potential for commercial traffic," he said.

Highways to prosperity GVK has in the past implemented the first six-lane toll road project (90 km long Jaipur-Kishangarh) on NH 8, part of NHAI's Golden Quadrilateral programme.
In addition, the company is developing two toll road projects currently in the construction phase. Today, GVK has a portfolio of 4 toll road projects totalling over 600 km, the release said.
