Absence of
decision-making among the leaders in the government is the biggest concern, Wipro chairman Azim Premji said on Monday.
"The biggest concern is over the governance issues. There is complete absence of decision-making among the leaders in the government," Premji told reporters here at a press conference on the
IT bellwether's performance during the second quarter (July-September) of this financial year(2011-12).
On the response to the second 'open letter' by a group of prominent persons, including industrialists, to national leaders on governance deficit, Premji said the reaction of the prime minister (Manmohan Singh) was positive in terms of taking it on record.
In the second letter (October 10) to the leaders, the industrialists, including Premji, Keshub Mahindra and Deepak Parekh, expressed concern over a series of scams.
In the first letter (January 17), the group brought to the notice of the prime minister and other leaders four major issues - growing governance deficit, galloping corruption, urgent need to distinguish dissent and disruption and environmental challenges.
"You will appreciate how serious is the issue of governance," Premji quipped.
