PSU oil companies have cut the price of petrol by Rs 3 per litre (inclusive of VAT). The rate cut would be effective from Wednesday.
Petrol would cost Rs 63.09/litre in New Delhi as compared to its earlier price of Rs 66.09.
Prices of petrol were last decreased by Rs 1.20/litre (including VAT) on 16 April 2013. Since last price change, the international prices of petrol have gone down from around $ 116/bbl to around $ 107/bbl. The rupee has also appreciated against the US dollar, giving more room to the oil companies to cut petrol price. The rupee has gone up to Rs 54.26/USD from Rs 54.51/USD during the same period.
