Retail inflation declined to 9.64 per cent in July from
9.87 per cent recorded in the previous month.
The Consumer Price Index
(CPI) based inflation eased sharply in rural area. For rural area retail inflation declined to 9.14 per cent in July from 9.63 per cent recorded in the previous month.
According to data released by the Central Statistics Office, for urban areas, CPI-based inflation rose to 10.26 per cent in the month under review as compared to 10.13 per cent recorded in the previous month.
