Mukesh Ambani expects 4G LTE devices in market below Rs 4,000 by year-end

Reliance Jio plans to launch commercial operations around December and will have 100 per cent national coverage in three years.

Reliance Industries will complete Rs 2 lakh crore of projects over the next 12-18 months, RIL Chairman Mukesh Ambani said on Friday.

"Reliance Industries has embarked on a journey to invest Rs 2 lakh crore in various projects over the next 12-18 months," Ambani said at Reliance industries 41st annual general meeting.

The full benefits of the entire investment cycle will be realised from 2016-17 onwards, he said.

Here are some of the major plans ahead for the group that he spoke on:

  1. Reliance plans to re-commission its entire network of 1,400 petrol pumps by FY16-end. Currently nearly 400 petrol pump outletsare operational.
  2. Reliance will commission 1.15 million tonnes of PTA capacity (a Purified Terephthalic Acid plant) at Dahej by October to make it the 5th-largest PTAproducer in the world.
  3. Returns from oil and gas exploration and production business lower than cost of capital. Important for the government to get the risk/reward balance right in the Exploration and Production sector, provide marketing and pricingfreedom. This will provide predictability and certainty toinvestors.
  4. Reliance Jio to launch commercial operations around December and will have 100 per cent national coverage in three years.  RIL's telecom arm has achieved wireless coverage far in excess of the rollout obligation as per itslicence conditions.
