Sony has launched its latest
gaming console, the PlayStation 4, in the Indian market for Rs 39,990. The consoles will be available in stores from January 6 and can be pre-ordered online at all major e-commerce stores as well.
The Sony PS4 is powered by an eight-core AMD CPU along with a Radeon 7870-derived GPU and 8GB RAM.
It has a 500GB hard drive. Also onboard is a Blu-ray disc and DVD drive.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, HDMI out, Aux, Gigabit Ethernet socket, an S/PDIF optical audio out, and two USB connectors. Face recognition to login and voice command are some of the interesting additions in the PS4.
The
controller comes with a console, called DualShock, which weighs around 210 grams. It includes a two-point touchpad, six axis Move motion sensor and a 'Share' button. In the box, you will get the basic console and a connecting cable.
Sony is also offering a camera for Rs 4,990 separately that can be paired with the console. An additional controller is available at Rs 4,990.
In-line with the console launch, Sony claims that
the launch is in support with over 20 first and third party games, which include titles like Knack and Killzone: Shadow Fall - available at Rs 3,990.
